Aunty Ally Ally Lee was a great nanny . She brought calmness and structure in caring for our newborn and myself even my first kid (2year old)from the start to the end – recommend her if you need a confinement nanny!

Aunty’s cooking was very tasty &fast and had a variety of dishes prepared everyday from breakfast wraps noodles , western food to the usual Chinese confinement fare. She would almost always make a cup of oats and milo in the morning with a warmed-up bottle of chicken’s essence in addition to the main breakfast dish!

In addition to caring for the baby, Aunty ensured I was resting enough and drinking the red date longan drink she brews daily. With enough rest and fluids, I was able to focus on pumping and establishing my breastmilk supply too. And baby have high jaundice she is also very careful about baby’s situation and help us monitoring in the night when he doing home based phototherapy. It’s really not easy and she sacrificed her resting at night to monitor baby’s temperature every hours. Really thankful for her being able to deal with this.

She was warm to my first kids (2year old)and she was also comfortable to be around her .Aunty Ally also help me guide my new help how to take care of baby too. We were very lucky to have Aunty Ally do the confinement for us!

Thank you Auntie Ally Ally Lee!

After interviewing and hearing from a few mummies, I decided to go with the most relaxed-sounding CN and I have no regrets!

As a first time mum, I didn’t wanna be overwhelmed, and just wanted some guidance. Was also worried about living with a ‘stranger’ but Auntie Ally was flexible with my needs, and is all-round patient and caring. 👍🏻

I can tell she cares deeply for mother & baby, always looking out for me and my recovery, and prioritizing us. This was in the form of non-stop carrying when my baby was being sooo fussy, keeping so calm & cool when baby poops & pees all over her (omg), and being flexible with logistics/rest times. I really appreciate it! Oh she even brought green papaya from Malaysia when she first came!

Food was not important to me as I have a helper, but she made sure I was well-nourished with lots of good and hearty food. My breast milk was super thick and flowing! Hahaha

She is fit and healthy, and I trust her as she is experienced with baby. Her memory is really good too. Baby loves her too! I think her calming energy really helped.

If I had to nitpick, cleanliness could be a tiny thing to look out for (I.e thorough washing of things/bb at night) but honestly she was doing the best in her sleep-deprived state. She’s already amazing! Lastly, she’s rly receptive to feedback so I felt very at ease with her 🙂

Thank you auntie Ally! We miss your help!

Engaged aunty Ally Lee for my confinement last month. She was a great help, and competent with the care of baby. She is able to manage the cooking, washing and simple housework, but always prioritising the needs of baby and me. Once I had a chill, and she immediately boiled some ginger and lemongrass drink to warm me up. Overall, a very good experience to have her. Thank you Yvonne for the recommendation!

I’ve just completed my engagement auntie sok wan (ally) for two months. Prior to engaging her, she listed out the tasks that she will cover to set expectations and has indeed fulfilled them during my confinement days.

Baby care

Can see that she really enjoys taking care of babies and is well prepared. She provided a schedule to record down baby’s milk intake, poo, pee. She is also attentive in taking care of baby’s needs and will always inform us if there’s something amiss in the baby’s behaviour, output and input so us as parents can make informed decisions on what to do next. She’s also very patient coz there were quite a few nights where my baby won’t sleep in her cot, auntie had to carry her up many times and even sit upright to carry her while they both get some sleep (she has good stamina to do that night after night too!). My baby cries a lot too, so she’s constantly talking to her to try calm her down while figuring out what my baby needs. She also observe good hygiene for baby, ensuring that we wash up when we return from outside, baby clothes and milk bottle/pumping accessories are washed promptly, cleans up and takes care of oral hygiene as well.

Mummy’s care

Auntie also takes care of me well other than the baby. If it was left to me alone, I will definitely not drink finish my longan water, not shower early, not be fed properly bcoz I’ll be too distracted by the baby. So she will keep on reminding me to take eat well, drink well, sleep well while she will take over the care of the baby. Her 苦口婆心 to keep on reminding me to take care of myself does help in my recovery better. She does have her schedule to prep your recovery needs such as your drink, longan water, meals, tonic soup promptly but also flexible if you wish to change up your schedule. She definitely also prioritises mummy’s recovery together with the baby.

Food

Her meals are delicious and will cook different variety of dishes each day so you won’t get bored. At the start of confinement, she asked what me and my husband liked and don’t like to eat, including my husband’s allergy to fish, she well takes note of it in her cooking. She is well versed to know the right timing and the type of food to take if baby has jaundice, using DOM, boosting milk supply, recovery etc. Not only that , she whips up fusion food to include western style like wraps and pasta! My birthday also happened to fall within my confinement days so auntie very sweet has cooked mee sua with eggs 🙂 She even started chatting with my mum over WhatsApp to instruct her with additional groceries and herbs to buy. She will also cook my husband’s share and offers to cook for my parents and in-laws if they come over. After every cooking session, she will clean up the kitchen well too.

Breastfeeding

She is supportive of my breastfeeding journey and only introduce formula when necessary for the well being of mother and baby. You can always inform her when you want to latch (even at night) so she will bring baby to you and remind you to prep your breast and position when the baby is ready to drink. If you feel that your supply is low, she will also help prep dishes like green papaya soup to boost your milk supply.

Others

The first thing when auntie came was to look into my kitchen to see what I have. Then she heads out to buy the groceries to prep for the confinement days. She will then organise the groceries, also after every marketing session. Other than that, she will also organise the nursery set up in an efficient way to take care of the baby. Laundry for us and the baby is also taken care of by her. even though we have a part time helper, she will still help with a bit of light cleaning. She was also kind enough to help sew down my bra pads bcoz it derailed after every wash.

Auntie has a well oiled set of SOP for baby and mummy to ensure both baby and mummy is well. She’s been a great company to my recovery and when the baby caring days can get lonely. She’s quite chatty if you like to have a casual conversation from time to time.

Aunty Ally was a great nanny to me and our family. She brought calmness and structure in caring for our newborn and myself from the start to the end – highly recommend her if you ever need a CL!

Aunty’s cooking was very tasty and had a variety of dishes prepared everyday from wraps, pastas to the usual Chinese confinement fare. Even my 3.5 year old toddler enjoyed her cooking.

When baby fussed for hours, and I offered to look after baby so she could rest, she always declined and instead asked me to rest. She’s really a superwoman!

She was warm to my toddler and he was also comfortable to be around her 😌 Aunty Ally also worked well with my Indonesian helper daily too. We were very lucky to have Aunty Ally do the confinement for our family 🥰
