Tan Yin Bao

I had the pleasure of having Auntie Yin Bao Tan Ah Poh as my confinement nanny. She arrived at my place early (my MIL was around) and immediately began preparing lunch, bathwater, and red date tea while waiting for me and my baby to return from the hospital.

Her experience with newborns was immediately evident. She handled my baby with great care, patience, and love, even during the first two weeks when my baby cried frequently at night. Despite the lack of sleep, she never complained and continued to carry out her daytime tasks efficiently.

As first-time parents, we greatly appreciated the valuable advice and practical tips she shared on how to care for our baby. She maintained good hygiene, always wearing an apron, disposable cap, and mask while cooking. She kept my kitchen clean and well-organized, and even wiped down the floor every night.

Her cooking was delicious, and she ensured both my husband and I were well-fed throughout my confinement. She always warmly welcomed both our parents to join us for meals.

While she can be direct in her communication (something she openly mentioned on day one), she accepts feedback graciously and is open to making changes when necessary.

Having Auntie Yin Bao in our home gave me peace of mind, knowing my baby was in good hands. She made sure I had enough rest and frequently checked in on my well-being, making my entire confinement period comfortable and manageable.

Just ended my confinement with Auntie Yin Bao Tan Ah Poh and I’m so thankful to have had her as my confinement nanny.

She is very hygienic—she washed up and changed into clean clothes right after arriving, and always wore a disposable cap, mask, and apron when cooking. She showed great love and patience toward my baby, and I always felt at ease leaving my baby in her care. She also shared many helpful tips on baby care, which were a huge help to me.

Auntie is very organized and managed her time well. She kept detailed logs of feeding and diaper changes. Her cooking was healthy, low in salt, and still very tasty. She not only cooked for me but also prepared meals for my family. I especially appreciated how thoughtful she was in preparing food that suited my picky elder son.

One thing I’m especially thankful for is how she guided my new helper—patiently teaching her how to cook, handle ingredients, and care for the baby, including bathing him safely. That made the transition so much smoother.

She constantly reminded me to rest, eat well, and pump on time. She also encouraged me in breastfeeding and ensured I avoided any “no-go” foods.

Auntie Yin Bao is friendly, easygoing, and truly caring. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a trustworthy and experienced confinement nanny.

Just ended my confinement with Auntie Yin Bao from MOT (21 Oct 22). I’m a first time mum so this is my first experience with a CN and I’m glad it’s a positive one.

When Auntie arrived at our house, she went to wash up and changed out of her clothes straight away. Hygiene level 👍🏼Subsequently, we talked abt the expectations and house rules etc and everything was clear from the beginning.

My in-laws were at our place that day and Auntie Yin Bao graciously invited them to stay for dinner. She told us she’s okay cooking for other family members, just have to let her know in advance. We really appreciated that as our families visited quite often.

The first few days was trying to get used to having someone else in our hse, but it didn’t take long as I can tell Auntie Yin Bao is a responsible and initiative CN. She prepared breakfast, lunch, dinner and sometimes snacks for us, looked after the baby so we can eat in peace, cleaned the kitchen after every dinner, wash baby, husband and my laundry, vacuumed and mopped the house once or twice a week. She’s a structured and experienced CN. Always reminding me to drink the red date tea, eat my meals, rest more etc. Bonus, she gets along well with my in-laws and mum.

Her cooking is suitable for my palate and low in sodium and fats (mostly boiling and steaming).

The last week before she left, I learned how to bathe baby and got many tips from her on taking care of baby as well. She’s patient and a good teacher! Also chatted with her on some of my concerns and she wld give advice from her POV.

We really had a good time with Aunty Yinbao. We met two times before she came to do my confinement as I need her to come make friend with my dog who needs time to know new people in our house. She make time to come my house after she end her job which we deeply appreciate it. Before she came, I also contacted her to check what I need to buy and stuff so that we have everything well prepared. When she came, she started by orgainsing my kitchen and she did it really well, – we leave the kitchen to her since she will be the main person using it for cooking meals and stuff. She cooks delicious confinement food which is also healthly as she doesnt use oil or salt. She handled my twins very well and we can tell she cared for them with love. She says she love her job and we definitely need to agree on this. Her time management is really superb. With 2 babies to handle, she is able to prepare simple breakfast, cook yummy lunch and dinner, wash babies clothes and sometimes help on my household chores if she have time – which we really thank her on this. Sometimes we tell her no need to do this and that but she still do it. She taught us how to handle our twins and now after she left, at least we feel confident to handle. She doesn’t force traditional confinement ways as I told her I don’t really want to follow strictly but only follow the more important things. But she make sure me (the mummy) rest and recovers well. I will definitely recommends her to other mummies.
